That’s a WRAP to 2009
Alright. I’m still 2 posts short of what I want to post before the end of the year.. and probably 20 posts short of what I wanted to post from this entire year.. BUT, this is my closing post for the year 2009.
SO. What to write in this BIG post. Sorry it’ll probably be long, as most of my posts are. SOOooo much has happened this year. I wish I could squeeze more into this post, but you’d get bored a quarter way through.. So, I’m going to sum up this last post with the start of my shift to fashion, and a quick photo collage summary of my first 4 months in NYC.
I started the new year, fresh back to the states from my stay in Firenze, Italia. I had 2 more quarters till graduation, and as some of you followed, I had started on a magazine and organized and co-art directed with the photographers for some beautiful editorial pieces. I learned a great deal, and I think all the shoots were a success!
I want to thank my team…
for believing in me and participating in this project to make it all happen. I hope you had as much fun as I did. (The links I’m attaching to the names are either links to their site, or the corresponding blog entry they did for the shoot with more photos.) I’d like to thank Samantha Walton for her creative and beautiful work with hair and makeup for many of the shoots, Allison Henry for hair styling, Yi-Jen for the creation of all the gorgeously hand made couture garments, and the photographers: Junshien, Steve, Sara, and Lynn-Kai for the lovely lovely pictures!
So here’s my favorite shots from each shoot in chronological order of date taken.
In September I moved out to New York. On the contrary to what most of you think, it wasn’t as glamorous and easy as I make it seem :]. New York’s a tough tough city - especially so when you move there knowing almost no-one. I got to experience the fabulous life within the fashion industry, and tasted tinge of corruptness running through its veins. I explored the city, had great food, got home at 8am some nights (reminiscent of my days in Europe), experienced NY’s first snow fall and actual extreme changes of weather from season to season — I can go on and on — the city is never ending and full of things to do and places to discover if you have the will power to tackle it all. But be prepared to fight in this city.

Here’s a mini collage of my first 4 months in the city :].

1. My first fashion week runway show 2. Gen Art friends 3. Club Love - Dub Wars
4. Gen Art Movie Prescreenings 5. Justin in the Dumpling Festival eating contest - his life is now complete :] 6. Halloween started with my friend Melissa and was probably the most adventurous night I had in NY - along with spending a snap ton on taxis
7. KITTY who always knocked out and cuddled with me when usually he never left my friend Thomas alone. What can I say? I’m a cat, therefore I connect with them. I WANT ONE
8. LeBasse Project group hangouts - Made me realize how much I missed hanging out with creatives 9. Thanksgiving - cooked a TON, these were my lamb prosciutto burgers - what a lovely evening 10. My favorite coffee shop - Pick Me Up Cafe. Book, pot of tea, and a croissant sandwich 11. Holidays in New York City - Bryant Park ice rink 12. Picture of my good ny friend Thomas and me on my birthday - Handful of friends I made in New York along with some visiting folk (mitzi!) along with meeting a bunch of new folk :]. 13. Linzi + her roommates and more girl friends - Always need a group of girls to go out with 14. SNOW SNOW SNOW. My NY xmas is complete 15. Last day at 1 of the 4 internship I balanced this season
